Well, that went fast and seems like forever ago. There hasn’t been a year that a haven’t blogged, but it has been sparse the past few. I don’t even know that woman that started blogging 15 years ago.
Cross stitch, knitting, spinning, weaving, life, happiness, sadness, just getting by. It’s almost all here. We aren’t talking about the past year yet, but I’m sure I will.
Today, I’ll be at Homestead Heritage weaving wash cloths and hand towels. I’m going to say to celebrate the blog, but honestly, I forgot until it popped up on my reminders last week. This is just a break for me from all the life stress. It is such a calming and joyful place.
I want to do a little give away to celebrate 15 years. I’ll do this post and 4 more. I know there will be a Stitched by JessaLu bag and maybe something else depending upon the response.

So, happy 15 years to me and happy Tuesday y’all!
I’ve gotten away from blogging due to the tweet machine and faceyspace. I’m tired of them. I’m not going to delete them or anything radical, just stepping back a little. I want to spend time crafting posts, sharing my life, and getting back to having more meaningful interactions.
While I was closing down my website, I realized that I have been blogging for 14 years. (WHAT!?!) Albeit not so much the past couple of years. I got a little nostalgic and I don’t want to just throw away those 14 years. I’ve made a few close friends, I’ve lost touch with more than I can remember, and I’d love to get to know a few new ones.
That being said, if you’ve been with me a while, welcome back. If you’re new here, hi! Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and let’s get to know one another.
WIP Wednesday (a day late, but not a dollar short)
I started this post on the right day, but life, it happens. Physical therapy kicked my arse yesterday. Here are my three active WIPs. Please tell me I am not the only one with active and inactive WIPs.
Because of the elbow, I often have to switch between different size yarn or needles. Some days I switch to weaving or spinning. ( 12 years living with the floppy paw – and still no elbow replacement. So take that, doctor know it all! ) Of course there is always cross stitch or embroidery. For those of you who don’t remember or are new, I started this blog as a cross stitching blog called Stacey’s Corner Cafe.
And there you go, I brought it back around to 14 years of blogging.
What are you working on today?
I finished exactly two fiber related projects last year. One a knit for someone else and one a woven scarf. I worked on a couple of knits, but frogged or forgot about most. I received my weaving club every two months and didn’t work on a single one. I did some cross stitch and embroidery. I spent time at the pool. I rode in the Sam’s Club Bike MS150. I did no Jiu Jitsu. I was sick for about half the year. I’m still down with the sickness and hope to have better answers next year. I broke a rib, my momma went septic on us. I almost gave up the blog and domain. It was an odd year. I think the word of the year was “apathetic”. It was like I just took a year off.
I’m not doing a whole “new year, new me” thing. I just need to get back on track.
Of course, January always means a month of CMMDI. Here’s a peek at everything I have laying around:
Yeah. I may also have a tiny addiction to JessaLu bags.
Happy New Year y’all!
I was going to pose this Saturday, but life.
Our JessaLu has been blogging for 12 years now and if you go over there and comment, you have a chance to win one of her fabulous bags. Mention me and I get a bonus entry. 50 comments and she adds another prize to the pool.
I started this blog about 6 months before her, but there are a bunch of us from the “Class of 2005” that are still around. Some of us post a bunch, and some of us aren’t that consistent (because FB and Twitter and Ravelry or life).
I’d like to make a better effort to blog again because I would like a slower pace. Everything on FB and Twitter is instantaneous. I’ve shut off my phone notifications for both and have been making an effort to step away a little. I noticed I was reposting a ton of memes instead of quality posts. I really enjoy those “memories” that pop up every day and I’d like to see my life instead of something meaningless.
I’m totally not doing a “new year, new me” post. I’ve just noticed things in my life that I would like to change.
Like getting this weaving going. This will be the first project on Mama Cass. (Someone reminded me that I need to name my lovelies)
Happy Monday y’all!
