4 months since my last post. And now y’all know why I stopped paying to host my own website.
Life, it is still crazy and some days I wish I was an attention seeking drama queen, but I am not one of those people.
I’ve started therapy, which is has been awesome. I’m finding me again. One of the suggestions was meditation and so I’m using knitting. No thinking, stockinette. Just knitting. Sure, I have harder projects, but I save the easy stuff for meditation.
I’ve finished two sweaters for me, one for my mom’s dog (despite the cat modeling it), and a shawl.
I’ve also had adventures in Nacogdoches, at the zoo, and hanging with friends new and old. I have two sweaters, two pairs of socks, and a shawl on the needles.
I raised money for the WalkMS (which was cancelled due to rain) and I’m still raising money for the BikeMS. (Yes, you can still donate at the link) And if y’all want to do some good and in the meantime make someone suffer, you can donate to this link. (I have met my minimum, this person has not.)
I’m doing well health wise and have been fitted for an AFO for the beginning of foot drop. I wore high heels, probably for the last time. I had my infusion in my favorite zebra room. I’m looking at surgery this summer and am debating a go fund me for the hospital copay. $2k is a chunk of change. I’ll drop my PayPal here in the meantime if anyone feels like helping.
There you go, my first quarter summed up in a blog post.
How has your year been going?
I’ve gotten away from blogging due to the tweet machine and faceyspace. I’m tired of them. I’m not going to delete them or anything radical, just stepping back a little. I want to spend time crafting posts, sharing my life, and getting back to having more meaningful interactions.
While I was closing down my website, I realized that I have been blogging for 14 years. (WHAT!?!) Albeit not so much the past couple of years. I got a little nostalgic and I don’t want to just throw away those 14 years. I’ve made a few close friends, I’ve lost touch with more than I can remember, and I’d love to get to know a few new ones.
That being said, if you’ve been with me a while, welcome back. If you’re new here, hi! Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and let’s get to know one another.
WIP Wednesday (a day late, but not a dollar short)
I started this post on the right day, but life, it happens. Physical therapy kicked my arse yesterday. Here are my three active WIPs. Please tell me I am not the only one with active and inactive WIPs.
Because of the elbow, I often have to switch between different size yarn or needles. Some days I switch to weaving or spinning. ( 12 years living with the floppy paw – and still no elbow replacement. So take that, doctor know it all! ) Of course there is always cross stitch or embroidery. For those of you who don’t remember or are new, I started this blog as a cross stitching blog called Stacey’s Corner Cafe.
And there you go, I brought it back around to 14 years of blogging.
What are you working on today?
Did you know that people still blog? I cruised through feedly today and realized all y’all are busy. All I’ve gotten done I the past few weeks is this:
Project: Last Chance Sweater aka February Lady (Ravelry)
Started: March 10, 2012
Yes, it took almost three years to finish. I’m o.k. with that. I finally finished it and it will be good for layering. Now I really want to cast on for another sweater. Maybe it is Iceageddon 2.0? Or just that I’m really happy to have a sweater I made and didn’t hate. She’s taking a bath and I’ll have to figure out where to block her.
What are you doing today?
I used to want sunny days so I could play on the lake. Now I pray for rainy ones so I can get a break.*
So far today, I’ve bought yarn and drank coffee. Don’t let the excitement overwhelm you.
Knitting! It’s a WIP, but it’s all I’ve got. I was actually able to cast on for something over my birthday weekend break. Between decoupage, winding sock yarn, dyeing and avoiding psycho, manic, drunk, rebel yelling neighbor dude. Thankfully, he is Nacogdoches’ neighbor and not mine.
I told her to grab her gun if he ever tells her that he has some nice chianti chilling. I almost did it myself when he started talking about doing shots of some 190 proof stuff he had stashed.
He reminded me of my former Harbor neighbors. Kind of. At least they stayed on their own property. Well, and they never left gifts on my porch in the middle of the night. O.o
I can honestly say I will never forget my 40th birthday.
What are y’all doing today?
* I didn’t mean to rhyme that. Swears. I do what I can, when I can, but it is always exhausting. And fun.
This is Obi. As in Obi One. Because his parents thought he only had one ding-a-ling instead of two. He’s helping me knit while I’m in Nacogdoches getting some R&R.
And acting as Truffle’s wife for the day. O.o
Her hubby is in Nawlins for the storm cleanup and she’s running the business at home. We both needed a little destress time, so it worked out perfectly.
I’m baking a fritatta for dinner with some of our farm fresh eggs. Oh, and of course tossing her stash and doing some nice, mindless knitting for others.
What are you doing today?
Hi! This is Squish-a-licious. I can’t come to the blog right now, because I’m busy having a life. Please leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Happy Wednesday y’all!
P.S. Paula, I can’t find your email, but I’ll be here Thursday afternoon.
