Although it feels like a lifetime ago, my post diving says that about 12 years ago, Sundara (formerly of a blog called Purly Whites) started posting a a picture on Friday and called it Eye Candy Friday.
It finally got chilly enough for me to toss the hand knit bin this morning. While I grabbed my go to Sockhead and Forest Canopy, this came tumbling out and I can’t wait to see if it gets cold enough to wear it this year.
What eye candy are you looking at today?
And a Monday. Because I can start all the blog posts I want, I just don’t always finish them.
The weather is cold! (at least for Texas) We went right from Summer to Winter temps. 48 F this morning. I had to put on a pair of hand knit socks for the first time Saturday. I don’t know how long this is going to last, they’re saying we’ll be back into fall weather (high 80’s during the day and high 60’s at night) by the end of the week. I’ve had all of the windows open and am taking full advantage of it.
Texas and I did an American Horror Story marathon and are ready for the new season. It took a while to get into season one. Season two was better and I’m excited for three to start this week.
Sadly, I’m not doing much of anything else. I broke 3 embroidery hoop things this week and the cold is not playing well with the floppy paw. I’m trying to finish off the two or three socks that I have on the needles, but it is slow going, only being able to do a few rows at a time.
Cookie says I need a sock machine, but being able to find one is not so easy. I’m guessing wool socks weren’t that popular in Texas.
BTW, tomorrow I’ll have been blogging for 9 years. Nine years. Where did the time go?
Happy Monday y’all!
Yeah, no comments about that title. I know it has been gone for a long time. I just have a song stuck in my head. Eminem of all things.
I think Curvy Wurvy is becoming Foldy Woldy.
Is any of this post making sense yet? Maybe I am losing my mind.
I got your eye candy right here. The storm clouds the other day. East Texas had 12 confirmed tornadoes from them. None near us, luckily.
Life is never dull.
We’re off to the lake today. Hope y’all have a good one!
First Monday Trade Days goes on forever! We went last Friday, spent about 6 hours, and still only covered about a quarter of it. Saturday was for Moo and Jake.
Luckily, this thing only happens once a month. I swear next time, I’m renting a scooter.
Happy Weekend y’all!
Cookie is on the left. Her sweeter and meeker sister is on the right.
Have you ever tried to photograph herd of ducks? (Yes Toni, herd is the proper word)
First they run this way.
Then they run that way.
They are in no way cooperative. Ever. Unless you have treats in your hand. Oh and yes, that is a plastic ball in the background. Yes, my livestock have toys. And plenty of treats. A head of cabbage this morning as a matter of fact. Which they treated like a ball until the chickens stepped in. They promptly started ripping it to shreds. Which made the ducks happy too.
We won’t speak of what happened in the other pen with the geese and their head of cabbage. O.o Dexter makes less of a mess. Just sayin’
I’ve chased Texas out of the house today and if my bank’s website cooperates, after I pay the bills, I will have some knitting time.
I need to get my wins where I can this week.
Happy Friday y’all!
Yeah, I don’t know what happened to the past
couple of days week either. I know I have pictures to download. I just have to get there.
Texas ended up having to work for a bit on Sunday before we made our way to San Antonio. We shall not speak about the fubars that occurred at the hotel when we first got here. O.o
Today Monday, I swam, did a grocery run and bought tickets to SeaWorld and Six Flags. My friend Jenny is on a bus headed this way as I type arrived late Monday night. YEAH! It’s her birthday next Monday, so Texas is paying paid for her room and I’ll have I had some one to play with while he’s working he worked.
Because, really? There is only so much fun you can have by yourself.
In the four days she was here, we did SeaWorld, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Schlitterbahn and Riverwalk/ Alamo. We crammed about eight days of vacation into four. I had an awesome time, felt like a kid again and made some great memories. Now I need the next week to recover.
Happy Saturday y’all!
P.s. Carrie K! For some reason, your email addy is wrong in the comments and I can’t make it right when I try to respond. I am not ignoring you. Well, maybe a little cause Hez sez to.
Changing what you have, Stacey, comes from changing who you are.
And changing who you are comes from changing what you think.
Which is why I made the latter so easy.
Hey, I think it’s Friday…
Stacey, trust yourself.
Hey, Stacey… It’s OK. Everything is fine. You’ve always been guided. Even now you are watched, and held, and adored. You’ve made great stuff happen, and you will make more great stuff happen. You’ve changed lives. You’ve changed your own. You’ve moved mountains and done the impossible. You’ve been scared and you overcame. You’ve been knocked down and you rose. And you’ve been lost, or so you thought, only to discover it was just the calm before another storm of creativity, love, and fun.
Humbled like the rest of ’em,
Carpet in: check
Flooring in: happening today
Super special water stuff: hopefully next week?
Stuff back in place: not in this lifetime
